Litigation

The litigation department of Levin and Gann, P.A. is chaired by Barry L. Steelman. Members of the department have over 75 years of combined experience in offering a broad range of legal expertise in complex civil litigation. Our trial attorneys have experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases. The litigation department members have vast knowledge and experience in many areas of civil litigation including business and commercial litigation, personal injury and wrongful death cases. The Firm has continually maintained a successful practice in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability, pharmaceutical (cold, flu and dietary) cases, construction litigation, serious personal injury, tort law, commercial litigation, mechanics' liens and appellate cases. Our Firm's trial attorneys have handled a number of appeals in various areas of the law in both state and federal appellate courts. The Firm has also served as local counsel in multi-state class-action litigation. Members of the litigation department regularly assume leadership roles in bar association committees and on faculties of the University of Baltimore School of Law and MICPEL and continuing legal education forums.

The Firm also has extensive experience in the areas of probate, tort, real property, contractor and developer issues. In providing full representation to our private, business and commercial clients, the Firm regularly engages in lender liability matters, commercial contract litigation, real estate matters, land use and development issues, landlord/tenant matters and construction defect issues. The Firm maintains a leadership role in the development of case law in the highest courts of Maryland in many areas, including residential construction disputes, consumer rights, land development law and worker's compensation matters.

Developer Law:

Levin & Gann represents developers in land use litigation and breach of contract disputes relating to the development of land throughout the State of Maryland.

Insurance Coverage Disputes:

The Firm has experience representing clients in establishing insurance coverage in the areas general liability coverage, worker's compensation law and in construction defect cases.

Appellate Practice:

Members of the Firm have represented clients before all appellate court levels in the Federal and State system, including the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals, the U.S. District Courts, the Court of Appeals of Maryland and the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland, as well as the appellate Courts of various other states and the District of Columbia.
